Slaves to play Reading and Leeds Festival 2016

A local punk outfit are among the first batch of acts announced to play one of the UK's biggest rock music festivals.

Slaves will appear at Reading and Leeds for their fourth consecutive year alongside some of the biggest names in music.

A handful of artists were revealed this morning including the two-piece, consisting of Isaac Holman, 23, from Tunbridge Wells, and Laurie Vincent, 22, from Maidstone.It was announced this morning that Slaves will play at the iconic festival on August bank holiday along with nine other acts including the first headliners, Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

The band said: “It's always a pleasure to play at Reading and Leeds and it's an honour to be invited back to play again in 2016.

"The crowds have been good to us and we are always very grateful. The line up is always a gooden and we're looking forward to being part of it and taking things up another level this time. See you there xxx”

The band was also nominated for a Mercury Prize for their debut album Are You Satisfied? last month.

The announcement also included twenty one pilots, The 1975, Courteeners, Boy Better Know, DJ EZ.

Reading and Leeds Festival takes place annually on August bank holiday weekend, which this year falls on 26-28.
