Maidstone: Commuter picked up trying to use M20 to walk home

A man spotted walking along a busy motorway was trying to get home.

The smartly dressed commuter, aged in his 60s, was spotted walking along the hard shoulder of the coastbound M20 just after 1pm.

He was picked up by a kind passerby and revealed he was trying to get from a meeting at the Kent Showground to his home in Ringlestone, Maidstone.

He had initially been looking for a bus stop but had ended up at the side of the carriageway.

Kent Police was informed about the incident.

The motorist picked him up and dropped him near his home.
