Heavy snow falls in parts of the county have closed schools across Kent.

Much of mid and west Kent escaped the worst of the weather but Swadelands School in Lenham was forced to shut its doors after staff and pupils experienced problems getting in.

Kent Police are advising motorists to take care when travelling and to check weather and travel information regularly.
