AFTER a long, final A-level year, and with a stressful month of exams completed, the Cornwallis School leavers’ ball was not only a chance to enjoy ourselves but also an opportunity to say goodbye to friends we had grown up with for the past seven years.

Following months of preparation -- from deciding on a venue to choosing napkins -- the evening went without a hitch. Our hard work paid off and it was amazing to see everyone having such a great night.

All the girls looked stunning in their beautiful ball dresses and it was a pleasant surprise to see that the boys could scrub up so well.

Students and their partners began to arrive at 7pm, with a number of glamorous entrances made by those who had hired limos for the occasion.

By 8.30pm the festivities were in full swing as bottles of champagne began circulating the room and everyone was tucking into the delicious buffet laid on for us by the Ramada Hotel and Resort.

By 10pm, many were making their way towards the dance floor, enjoying our final time together as a year group.

It was a memorable evening enjoyed by all and marking a great end to a challenging year of studies. We would like to take this opportunity to wish all year 13 Cornwallis leavers the very best for the future, whether they are off to university in September, taking a gap year or entering the work place. Now that the strains of exams are behind us we hope you all have a great summer-- you’ve earned it!
