Appeal after Volvo XC60 and teen BMX rider collide in Maidstone

A teenage BMX rider is in a serious condition after being involved in a collision with a car.

Police were called to Maidstone at 5.40pm yesterday following the incident involving a white Volvo XC60.

The incident happened in Sutton Road at its junction with Cranborne Avenue

It happened in Sutton Road at its junction with Cranborne Avenue.

The ambulance service also attended and the 18-year-old cyclist was treated for injuries at the scene.

He was then taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Witnesses are now being urged to come forward with information.

Anyone who saw the incident, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist the investigation, is urged to call the serious collision investigation unit on 01622 798538 or email them, quoting reference 01-1190.
