Former MP Ann Widdecombe dismissed a nomination for eviction as invalid on Celebrity Big Brother last night.

Presenter Emma Willis entered the house as nominations took place for the first time since the series began last Tuesday.

Female housemates were forced to nominate face to face, but when Kardashian-bestie Malika Haqq pulled the former Maidstone and The Weald MP's picture from her envelope, the 70-year-old tried to dismiss the nomination.

Miss Haqq said she felt housemates were "torturing" the Brexiteer, but Miss Widdecombe quickly countered "that's not valid, you must give another reason."

Pressured by Emma Willis to give another reason, the 34-year-old said: "Everybody is always apologising to Ann for our language, I feel like we're torturing her."

The reason was eventually accepted, with transgender TV presenter India Willoughby also nominating the former politician.

Despite gaining a third nomination from glamour model Jess Impiazzi, the former politician is not at risk of eviction on Friday, after India Willoughby and Love Island's Jonny Mitchell gained six and four votes respectively.

Casting her votes, the former Strictly Come Dancing star voted for India Willoughby "because of all the rows she's caused" and former Apprentice contestant Andrew Brady, who she thought was the "laddiest and rowdiest".
