Tommy Warrilow is predicting a "massive weekend" in the race for the Ryman League Premier Division play-offs and believes as many as a dozen clubs are still involved.

Tonbridge Angels head to Canvey Island on Saturday on a day when eight of the leading clubs are playing each other and Warrilow (pictured) said: "Nobody has an easy run-in and everyone will drop points. We can’t take anything for granted and control our own destiny.

"Canvey are one of the form sides and it’s never easy there. They are seventh and you can’t right them off, or anyone down to Wealdstone, who are 12th."

He added: "We haven’t exactly been firing on all cylinders lately but have still put together a five-game unbeaten run.

"The draws at Kingstonian and Wealdstone hurt us a bit but were decent results. It hasn’t been free-flowing or pretty but I am not too fussed about that. We have done that in the past and have got nothing. It’s a case of getting our heads down and concentrating on ourselves."

Warrilow admitted he was delighted Carl Rook got off the mark against Maidstone after returning from Dartford on loan. He said: "I think I was more relieved than him because I don’t think he has ever had the credit for a scoring record that is second to none. He was unlucky he followed Jon Main, who was a legend at the club. The one thing I want our supporters to do is enjoy the thrill of the race."

Former Kent County Football Association chief executive Keith Masters has taken over as secretary, succeeding Charlie Cole. A statement said the board reluctantly accepted Cole’s resignation, praising his "magnificent" service.
