The Nepalese community in Maidstone will stage a candlelit vigil on Monday, May 4 to pay their respects to the victims of last weekend's earthquake.

The national anthem of Nepal will be played at 8.05pm and this will be followed by a series of speeches, prayers and a balloon release.

All are invited to attend and pay their respects.

Jubilee Square - without a festive market

During the day two stalls be set up in the town centre, one in Jubilee Square and another at the junction of Week Street and Earl Street.

These will be taking donations to support victims of the disaster between 9am and 5pm.
