A borough council’s base was damaged and CCTV has been disrupted following flooding.

Maidstone Town Hall was flooded over the weekend when water accumulated in the basement of the building in the town’s high street.

A spokesman for Maidstone Borough Council said: “We can confirm there was a flood in the Town Hall over the weekend which has been confined to the lower basement of the building. We are currently dealing with the issue and assessing any damage.”
