A crash on the M20 caused traffic to build up this afternoon.

One lane of the motorway was closed following the accident on the Londonbound side near Junction 5 for Aylesford.

Pictures taken at 4.20pm showed vehicles being held by highways officials, but it is understood the road was cleared by 4.40pm.

Police did not attend.
