Travellers park in NHS car park without permission
Published: 14:52, 02 September 2013
A car park used by NHS staff was filled with caravans over the weekend and six remained on site until early this afternoon. (Monday, September 2)
The vehicles, which were owned by travellers, were parked without permission in car parks belonging to a building which used to provide accommodation for nurses in Hermitage Lane.
The Nurses Home is currently up for sale but parts of the site, including the car park, are still in use by NHS staff.
All of the vehicles had left the site by 1pm.
A spokesman from Kent Police said: “We were aware of the travellers of Hermitage Lane but we had no operational involvement.”
