Traffic due to road closures in Willington Street area of Maidstone

Drivers are facing a triple whammy of hold-ups due to water works.

Spot Lane in Downswood, near Maidstone, is currently closed and will stay shut until 5pm on Thursday.

South East Water is working on water mains in the area

The Bearsted and Thurnham Society said some drivers have been reporting 45-minute delays trying to exit the estate in the morning peak period as a result.

In addition, there is a lane closure and temporary traffic lights on nearby Willington Street, due to end at 5pm tomorrow (Wednesday).

And Church Road at Otham, near the new Parsonage Place development, is closed to through traffic and will remain so until October 18.

Long diversions are in place for that one.

All three closures are due to works on the water mains by South East Water.
