Two construction site workers have been arrested after a bust by immigration officers.
The men were held this morning after Home Office Immigration Enforcement visited a construction site at Springfield Park, Royal Engineers Road in Maidstone.
Around four marked vehicles and seven officers were parked in front of the Weston Homes development at around 11am.
Officers discovered a 41-year-old who had overstayed his visa and a 59-year-old who had entered the country illegally.
The men were working for a contractor on the site called Gypcraft LTD.
A spokesman for the Home Office said: "Checks identified two Nigerian men who were working illegally.
"Both men were arrested.
"The younger man was transferred to immigration detention pending removal from the UK, while the older man was ordered to report to enforcement regularly while his case is progressed."
