Police seek men after horse dies in Lenham Road, Headcorn

Police are hoping to speak to two men following the death of a horse in Headcorn earlier this week.

On Monday we reported that the animal had been found in Lenham Road at 12.44pm.

Witnesses saw the horse, which is believed to have taken part in a harness race, drop to the ground shortly before it died.

Now police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to come forward and also revealed officers want to speak to two men who were seen with the horse shortly before its death.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were called to the scene at 12.44pm and it is reported that the horse may have been involved in a harness race.

The horse was found in Lenham Road, Headcorn

"It is understood the horse had travelled with two men who are not believed to be from the Headcorn area.

"Anyone who believes they have information that can help officers speak with the two men is asked to contact Kent Police."
