Andre Bent stabbing: two men charged with violent disorder after Maidstone death

Two more people have been charged with violent disorder after the death of Andre Bent in Maidstone.

Detectives investigating the killing of Andre say they have charged two men from London.

Andre, 21, from Lambeth, south London, died following a disturbance in the High Street during the early hours of Sunday, August 19.

A 16-year-old boy from the Hornsey area of north London has been charged with his murder as part of an ongoing investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

The teenager is currently remanded in custody awaiting his next crown court appearance.

Officers from the directorate say they charged two men yesterday with with violent disorder in connection with the disturbance.

They are Jerral Johnson, 26, of Boyton Close in Hornsey, and Kaline Riley, 23, of Campsfield Road in Hornsey.

Both are due to appear before magistrates in Medway today.

A third man, aged 29 and also from Hornsey, was arrested on Monday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

He has been released on bail pending further inquiries until Tuesday, October 8.

The total number of people arrested in connection with the disturbance and Andre’s death now stands at 11.

One has been charged with murder, six with violent disorder and four are currently on bail.
