LIMOS and sports cars were among the modes of transport chosen by 110 Year 11 students at Valley Park Community School, Maidstone, to arrive at the annual school prom.

The girls looked stunning in their ball gowns, with dresses ranging in colour from deep blues and reds to pastels with matching pashminas. Many wore tiaras and matching jewellery.

The boys had never looked smarter: tuxedos and formal wear were the order of the day. Staff were not forced to utter the usual cry : "Shirts in, Ties out!."

The prom was held in the school hall which had been decorated and transformed by a dedicated group of parents using red and gold balloons and flowers. The colours and theme had been chosen by pupils on the Prom Committee.

Two bands performed during the evening. Year 11 students involved were: Alex Eldridge (lead guitar), Matt Morfey (rhythm guitar), Dan Fowle (bass) and Paul Munro (drums).

The other band featured Jason Mallett (drum), James Bridgens (lead guitar), Richard Elmore (bass).

The evening was a huge success and it was an emotional farewell to the class of 2004.
