All lanes on the M20 have re-opened after an earlier vehicle fire.
The incident occurred around 7am on the coastbound carriageway and traffic was queuing back between J3, the Swanley interchange, and J2 for the A20 London Road, with two lanes closed initially.
Motorists slowing down on the opposite side of the road to look at the fire also causing some delays in that direction.
National Highways posted on social media site X: “Lanes 1 and 2 (of 3) are closed on the #M20 eastbound between J1 (#M25) and J2 (#A20#Wrotham) due to a van fire and spillage.
“Emergency services are working at scene.
“There are 30 min delays above normal travel time so please allow extra journey time.”
However, both lanes have now reopened and traffic is flowing normally.
There were no reports of any injuries.
