A fairytale afternoon was made that bit more special for a victorious rugby club captain today after he proposed to his fiancée in front of cheering crowds at Twickenham.

Ben Williams, who plays prop for Maidstone Rugby Club, was celebrating his team's 31-18 victory over Bridgnorth in the final of the RFU Intermediate Cup when he got down on one knee to pop the question.

The 26-year-old's girlfriend Jo Cook promptly accepted to rapturous applause by thousands who had travelled to South West London to watch their respective teams battle it out.
