Warning after serious sex attack on teenager

DCI ANNE BRITTAIN: urging women to be vigilant

KENT Police are appealing for information after a serious sexual assault on a 17-year-old girl as she walked home after a night out.

The attack happened in Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, near the junction of Westree Road.

The attacker is described as white, short brown hair (long enough to get hold of), 20-25 years old, heavy build and believed to be wearing a white Nike jacket displaying the Nike logo.

He may have minor injuries as a result of the attack which occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police DCI Anne Brittain said: “Although attacks of this nature are rare in occurrence, we ask that women do remain vigilant. This was a serious assault on a young woman by a man we need to catch.

“We would like to hear from anyone with any information about this assault, or from anyone who may know someone who fits the description.”
