Police appeal for witnesses after teen struck by car in Sutton Road, near Willington Street in Maidstone

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was hit by a car as she was crossing the road in Maidstone.

It happened at around 7.50pm on Friday, March 5, in Sutton Road, near its junction with Willington Street.

It is reported the vehicle did not stop and continued towards Chart Sutton.

The teenager was taken to hospital with a head injury and bruising and was later discharged.

Investigating officer, Police Sergeant Andy Ferguson said: "The vehicle is described as a silver or light blue small hatchback and we would like to speak to the driver.

"We are appealing for anybody who witnessed the collision to contact our appeal line."
