Witnesses are being sought to a crash that left a 72-year-old dog walker trapped under a car in Loose Road, Maidstone.

The man was taken to a London hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition, after the accident on Thursday.

The man was injured at about 4.10pm when a white Volvo lorry and a white Volkswagen Polo collided.

Police are appealing for information.

No one else was injured in the crash, which happened close to the junction with Sutton Road.

Detective Constable Aaron Hammond, from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This collision took place on a busy and well-used road at a time when we believe a lot of people were in the area.
