A fast-food worker was found dead at a friend's home after a New Year's Eve party.

Andrea Madden, 38, died as a result of alcohol intoxication and cocaine consumption, an inquest at County Hall in Maidstone heard last week.

Her body was found at her friend's home in Lancashire Road, Maidstone on New Year's Day, after a colleague went to check on her when she didn't turn up for work.

A police report, read by coroner Bina Patel, detailed how at around 9.30pm on Friday, December 31, Ms Madden and her friend finished work and went to her colleague's house for some drinks.

However, after both failed to show up for their 9am shifts the next day another workmate became concerned and checked the Lancashire Road home.

The inquest heard how Ms Madden was found laying motionless on the conservatory floor.

Paramedics arrived at the scene at around 10.20am, but could not save her.

A toxicology report revealed Ms Madden, of Edmett Way, Maidstone, had a blood alcohol level of 376mg/100ml of blood, more than four times the drink drive limit of 80mg.

Bottles of champagne, beer and spirits were found at the scene when police arrived.

The report also said 1.35mg of cocaine was found in her urine sample.

The court heard Ms Madden was not known to any alcohol or drugs services.
