Arrest after fight outside McDonald’s and KFC in Week Street, Maidstone

Footage of a fight between a woman and children outside KFC and McDonald’s has appeared online.

During the incident at the top of Week Street, Maidstone, close to Brenchley Gardens, a woman in a pink tank top picks up the bike and begins to lift it over her shoulders before a boy dressed in black grabs it from her.

A fight then breaks out. The incident happened outside KFC at around 6.20pm on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said: “We were called on Tuesday to a report of a disturbance in Week Street, Maidstone.

“Patrols were deployed and attended Wheeler Street where a further altercation was ongoing.

“A woman was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and was taken into custody.

“An investigation into the circumstances is underway and officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incidents in Week Street or Wheeler Street to contact them.”

Update: The woman was later bailed to return to the police station on November 20, pending further investigation.
