A 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and assaulting a police officer in Maidstone yesterday evening.

Kent Police said it received a report of a disturbance near the underpass in Broadway at 5:23pm.

Officers responded and arrested a woman, who remains in custody.

Members of the public had reported seeing a police car with flashing lights stopped on Maidstone's gyratory system during yesterday evening's rush hour.
