Police appeal for witnesses after woman reportedly assaulted in Maidstone

A suspect has been charged after a woman was injured in an alleged violent robbery.

The victim was reportedly followed between Knightrider Street and the Millennium Bridge in Maidstone before being assaulted between 11pm and 11.30pm on Sunday, August 4.

She was taken to hospital after suffering injuries including cuts, grazes and a head wound. A bag was also reportedly stolen.

Jordan MacDonald, of Regency Place, Maidstone, was arrested and is in custody.

The 27-year-old was charged with robbery, theft and assault by beating and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on September 2.

DC Josh Littley said: “This happened in an area which was in the vicinity of All Saints Church and Maidstone Baptist Church.

“We are urging anyone who was in or near this location, and who may have heard or seen anything suspicious to contact us.”
