An oblivious motorist who hogged the middle lane of the M20 for 11 miles has been pulled by police for careless driving.

Traffic officers watched as the silver car travelled along the motorway in what they describe as "one of the worst cases of lane hogging" they have even seen.

The driver is said to have blocked other vehicles as they failed to budge from the lane, "completely oblivious of traffic around them".

An unmarked patrol eventually pulled the car over and gave the driver a traffic offence report.

The offence will now be considered by Kent Police's Driver Diversion Team, which will decide what penalty - if any - should be applied.

Options include an educational course, a fine and/or points, or even a Summons to Court.
