A TEENAGER from Maidstone died after his motorcycle left the road and crashed into a lamppost.

The 17-year-old was riding a Honda motorcycle when he skidded while riding along the A229 Loose Road, immediately outside the fire and ambulance stations.

The accident took place at 11.25pm on Friday. He was taken to Maidstone Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Details on the young man’s identity will not be revealed until all family members have been notified. It is understood he lived in the Loose Road area.
