Another chance to catch a snapshot of Maidstone

by Angela Cole

A snapshot of Maidstone life through the ages will be on offer for our readers for a second time as part of our 150th anniversary this year.
News in Pictures - a Kent Messenger anniversary exhibition, is on display at the Royal Star Arcade until June 13.
The free event is back by popular demand, after proving a hit when it was on display at The Mall Chequers, Maidstone.
The exhibition showcases more than 100 images of people and events in and around the town.
It brings together some of the KM’s most memorable images from wartime bombings and celebrations, to flooding and fires.
In association with the Royal Star Arcade and the Kent County Photographic Association, the exhibition includes pictures of traditional annual events like the County Show and brings you up to date with more recent events, including the Tour de France in 2007.
All the pictures on display are available to buy, by selecting services on our website.
