Police are appealing for the public’s help after a teenager was beaten in a "vicious attack" in Sevenoaks - all for intervening in an argument.
The victim, an 18-year-old man from Rainham, was sat in his car in Holly Bush Lane at around 7.45pm on Thursday, October 31 when he heard what sounded like an argument between some teenagers.
The girls, around 14 or 15 years of age, were standing in the road looking shaken.
As he was getting out of his car, the victim noticed two girls standing in the road looking shaken, and a group of around six to eight boys.
Concerned, he asked the girls if they were OK and advised them to go home. They started off in the direction of Avenue Road.
But when the Good Samaritan turned to walk back to his car he was shouted at by one of the boys, described as a 5ft tall white teenager, with dark brown spiked hair. wearing a dark hooded top and sports bag.
The group then ran towards him and he was knocked to the ground. As he lay there, he reported he was stamped on, kicked and punched before his assailants ran away.
He was left with facial injuries and a cut to his ribs.
Investigating officer, PC Daniel Collard of Kent Police, said: "We have followed several lines of enquiry trying to track down the suspects and are now appealing for the public's help.
"This was a vicious attack on a man who was just trying to help two people he thought were vulnerable."
The girls were described at being 14 to 15 years old, around 5ft 5ins tall. One had shoulder-length dark brown hair, wore a cropped top and had a pierced belly button.
The other had lighter hair, tied up and wore a dark jacket.
