Appeal after man hit by car on Rye Road, Sandhurst

A man is in a serious condition after being hit by a car.

The pedestrian, a man in his 40s from London, was knocked down by a silver Peugeot 307 on the A268 Rye Road in Sandhurst just after 9.30am yesterday.

He was a passenger in a delivery lorry and had left the vehicle to cross the road when he was hit.

The car involved was travelling towards Hawkhurst.

The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital.
