Police continue their appeal after devastating A229 Royal Engineers' Road smash involving van and a motorcycle

Detectives have reissued their appeal for information after a serious crash involving a van and a motorcycle near Maidstone.

The incident happened around 5.30pm on Thursday, November 10 on the A229 Royal Engineers' Road.

It involved a Fiat Scudo and a blue Suzuki 600 motorcycle and officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was travelling behind the motorcycle in the moments leading to the collision.

They would also like to hear from anyone who may have dash cam footage of the incident.
The motorcyclist, who was travelling in the was taken to Kings College Hospital in London with injuries to his pelvis that were described as life-threatening.

He is now in a stable condition.

The van driver – a 45 year-old man from Maidstone – was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, and later released on bail until January 4, 2017.
