Whether it’s their chubby cheeks, impish grin or adorable expression, they are all potential winners.
But only one can walk or toddle away with the title of Cute Kid 2012 - and it’s down to you to determine the top runners.
Of the 216 children featured in this week's paper, 10 finalists will be selected from readers’ text votes, from which judges will choose the top three winners.
Having posed for pictures by Starlight Studios in Royal Star Shopping Arcade, Maidstone, the youngsters’ sweet smiles are now published to capture your hearts and votes.
The winner will walk away with £500 plus a canvas portait, second prize is £150 plus canvas portrait and the final runner-up receives a canvas portrait plus £50.
But they need your help to get them there.
Vote by text for the child of your choice as many times as you like.
The more votes cast, the more chance your chosen child has of creeping closer to that top title.
Once all the votes have been collated and counted, the top 10 runners to date will feature in the Kent Messenger on October 5.
But don’t worry if your selection doesn’t feature. There will be another week of voting to give your text tally a boost before the finalists are determined.
The judging panel will then have the difficult task of selecting the top three who will be announced in the Kent Messenger on October 26.

To vote, text KID, leave a space, add the reference code, your name and postcode and send to 87474 (eg. KID 027 John Smith ME12 1NL). All votes cost £1 plus your standard network charge and you can vote as many times as you like. You will receive a text back confirming each message received. There will be no coupons to collect from the paper as voting will be done entirely by text.
