A special flag is raised
to mark Armed Forces Day
by Anna White
Maidstone saluted this week's Armed Forces Day at its flag
raising ceremony.
Dignitaries from the town met at Jubilee Square, in
High Street, this morning to pay tribute to the country's
servicemen and women.
Sea Cadet Kimberly Stevens, 17, had the honour of raising the
flag, which will fly above the town hall for the rest of the week
ahead of Armed Forces Day on Saturday.
Today's ceremony included an armed honour guard by 20 Field
Squadron (Search) and a traditional Kukri dance by two of
the Queen’s Gurkha Engineers.
