Army officers seized a number of dummy military items from a house in Maidstone yesterday evening.
The Ministry of Defence's police force, the National Crime Agency (NCA) and a bomb disposal unit from Shorncliffe spent most of yesterday in Pope Street, Fant.
It was part of a pre-planned operation and throughout the day plain-clothed officers were seen entering a property and removing items.
An army spokesman confirmed today a number of inert items had been taken and will be destroyed.
It is not known why any of the agencies were called to the property or the exact nature of the items found.
The MoD claimed the NCA was leading the operation, while the NCA said it was an MoD investigation.
Neither could confirm whether the raid was linked to a similar incident in the same road in 2013, in which a resident alerted the authorities to plastic explosives being stored at a property.
At the time military memorabilia was examined but nothing was seized.
