Police have arrested a suspected drink driver after a car crashed into a dental surgery during a chase.

Officers were in pursuit of the car in Maidstone last night before it ended up in the front wall of Senacre Dental Clinic, in Bell Meadow.

Kent Police RPU tweeted at around 2am that the driver had been arrested following a roadside breath test.

Their tweet said: "So... it appears someone didn't read our tweet from earlier.

"Driver failed to stop leading to a short pursuit through #Maidstone with officers from team 5 @kentpolicemaid.

"The driver crashed and was detained. He blew 117 at the roadside (35 legal limit). RK"

The force has been contacted for a statement.
