A man has been arrested after a police chase in the early hours.

A vehicle which was reported stolen came to the attention of officers in Lower Stone Street in Maidstone just after 3.30am on Thursday.

Police were able to bring the car to a stop in Dean Street and arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner's consent.

He remains in custody and inquiries are ongoing.
