As he put in his card, a man began speaking with him and distracted him.

He later found that £500 – the most that can be withdrawn from an ATM in a Lloyds branch – was taken without him knowing.

The Kent Crime Squad began an investigation and on Thursday a woman was arrested in connection with the incident.

Chantal Ahmed, of Mayville Road, Ilford, was later charged with conspiring with another to commit fraud.

The 54-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday where she was remanded to Maidstone Crown Court on April 5.
