A man has been arrested by police who launched an investigation after lone women were followed and approached in Maidstone town centre.
It was reported that several people were spoken to inappropriately in recent weeks after being tracked by a man.
On Tuesday, officers were called to suspicious incidents at Fremlin Walk and Week Street.
The next day, a 29-year-old man from Chatham was arrested on suspicion of public order offences, and is currently bailed to return to a police station next Wednesday.
PC Keith Roostan said: "We are trying to establish the circumstances of any possible offences and believe it is likely there may be a number of women or teenage girls who have been approached, or may feel they have been followed in recent days."
Anyone who has seen a man acting suspiciously, or has any information which may assist the investigation, is urged to call Kent Police on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/263187/21 or call Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555111 or by using its online form.
