A car was seen jacked up off two of its wheels after getting stuck on a lamppost.

Visitors to the Maidstone Industrial Estate in Cuxton Road noticed an Audi Q5 stuck on a pole outside the Peugeot garage at around 8.30am.

One witness said: “Apparently the driver was doing a u-turn and shot forward instead of backward and ended in that position.

“The car was still there by 9.30am.”

Police were called and a spokesman confirmed there were no reported injuries and officers spoke to the man linked with the vehicle.

The road was later closed at around 2.30pm as the car was being put on the back of a low-loader.
