High Street shoppers are switching their attentions to charity stores as they look to bag a bargain and take home the best designer deals.
Those who love designer goods need look no further as many of Maidstone’s charity shops are selling designer items at a snip of their retail price.
The Peggy Wood Foundation, PDSA, The Children’s Trust and Age UK are just a few of the shops selling these must have items.
Below we take a look at some of the best deals for the biggest labels and clothes on sale at our charity shops.
The Peggy Wood Foundation – Karen Millen overload
Look no further for your Karen Millen items. Whether it is a vintage or up to date collection you’re looking for, you’re bound to find something from the well known designer in the Peggy Wood Foundation.
Karen Millen skirts price at around £300 but can be found in the charity shop for just £50 – one sixth of its retail price.
Volunteer Pam Mason, 75, said: “We sold a vintage Karen Millen skirt for £50. The donor said it was one of her first release skirt designs.”
The store is currently preparing for its summer range of clothing to be put out on the rails to which there is a Karen Millen vest top.
Although the price has not been finalised yet it’s guaranteed to be a lot cheaper than the original price.
The Peggy Wood Foundation has also seen big brands such as Ralph Lauren, Karen Millen and Cath Kidston.
PDSA - Get your fix of Ralph Lauren at the pet care charity shop
Shirts and tee shirts manufactured by world-renowned designer Ralph Lauren have also been found on coat hangers at a fraction of the original price at PDSA.
The exclusive bargain price of £10 for a Ralph Lauren shirt can be found in the High Street shop.
Typically Ralph Lauren shirts would be purchased from retailers for around £85 but at PDSA you can pick these up for much cheaper.
PDSA have recently recruited a new assistant store manager who is looking to bring a younger custom to the shop and appears to do so by having many Ralph Lauren items.
Asher Meekins, 50, said: “We’re trying to sell more designer to get the younger people in. So far it’s been working.”
The shop also currently has Moss Bros. and Taylor&Wright shirts up for sale while other names including Gucci, Diesel and DKNY have also appeared in the store.
PDSA doesn’t stop there. A Hackett London wash bag can also currently be found for a haggled price of £14.99.
The Children’s Trust – top port of call for Tommy Hilfiger and Ted Baker
Tommy Hilfiger and Ted Baker have taken over The Children’s Trust with their products this season.
Hilfiger women’s trousers are the latest edition to the clothing rail at The Children’s Trust at a drastically reduced price of £30.
Typically retailers charge the extortionate price of at least £100 per pair of trousers.
Ted Baker bags are coming back to the high street this year with a relatively large amount of Ted Baker bags flooding into The Children’s Trust.
Best to get in there quick so you don’t miss out on these deals as Lisa Mansell, store manager, said: “Everyone loves a good bargain.”
Levi jeans, Hollister tee shirts and Ralph Lauren shirts have also been spotted all selling at around £6-£10.
Age UK – helping the old while serving the young
A must have Radley bag has captured the eyes of volunteers in Age UK.
Ann Spain and Brenda Sheed have been volunteers at the shop for more than 11 years and have seen the works of many designers donated but have taken very much to the Radley bag that was recently donated.
Age UK aims to save you a fortune by pricing the bag at £30 – much cheaper than the retail price of £185.
Brands such as L.K.Bennett, Ted Baker and Pied a Terre are amongst the other many names that can be found in the shop.
Real gold H. Samuel jewellery can also be purchased in store from around £280.
The British Heart Foundation - Designer display
The British Heart Foundation has really got into their designer items by designating a whole rail in the shop to branded goods.
Gucci, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent and Diesel are typical brands you can find in this store pricing up at roughly £20.
While slightly on the pricier side, Ralph Lauren and Ted Baker can also be purchased for around £12-£15.
It appears high end fashion is edging its way on to the high street with the bonus being all money spent on big brands goes to charity.
