A PAEDOPHILE who sexually abused four boys over a five-year period has been jailed indefinitely.
Glen Jones was told he would have to serve a minimum of almost three-and-a-half years before he would be considered for release.
A judge said the sentence for public protection was necessary because there was a high risk of the 30-year-old barman committing further offences against children.
Jones, of Bowermount Road, Maidstone, admitted three charges of rape, four of indecent assault on a male, four of indecency with a child, two of assault by penetration, three of making indecent photographs of a child, two of taking indecent photographs of children, sexual activity with a child and distributing indecent images of children.
He asked for seven offences of making indecent images of children to be taken into consideration.
Maidstone Crown Court heard that Jones came to the attention of police as part of Operation Ore, when it was discovered that he had downloaded about 10,000 indecent images of youngsters from the internet.
Fiona Moore-Graham, prosecuting, said officers uncovered photographs of Jones engaging in sex acts with young boys.
He was arrested in November 2005 and bailed while the victims were identified.
Miss Moore-Graham said Jones set up a website called Kid Pulp and distributed some of the images by email.
One of boys, victim of the rape charges, was aged nine, when Jones started abusing him.
When asked about it, Jones made full admissions. He admitted: "I know what I have done is wrong because of his age."
The prosecutor said Jones molested three other boys under the age of 16.
Miss Moore-Graham added: "It is fair to say that had it not been for his full admissions, details over many hours of interviews would not have come to light."
After the hearing, Det Con Peter Wakerly of Kent Police, said: "Glen Jones is guilty of the most serious of sexual offences against young boys and their lives will always be affected by his appalling actions.
"The officers involved in this protracted inquiry hope that the boys and their families can find some comfort now that Jones has been jailed for his crimes and severe restrictions placed on him for the rest of his life."
He stressed: "Kent Police will continue to vigorously investigate offences of this nature."
