A pensioner has been charged with drink driving after a car crash in Bearsted.

Carol Saysell, who lives in the village, was arrested at the scene in Ware Street on Friday.

The 66-year-old's car was in a collision with a van at about 5.50pm.

Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance and Kent Fire and Rescue all attended.

The road was closed for about an hour while the debris was cleared.

The incident caused minor disruption and traffic was flowing freely by 7pm.

Saysell,of Sandy Mount, was released on bail. She is due to appear in court next month.
