A 69-year-old disabled woman died in her bed as a fire raged through her flat, an inquest heard.
During an inquest opening held at the Archbishops Palace todayBina Patel, assistant coroner for Mid Kent and Maidstone, heard the bed bound widow had died from smoke inhalation on December 19.
Christmas decorations and floral tributes were left at Mrs Tucker's bottom floor flat in the wake of the devastating fire and the community came together as they mourned her death.
According to neighbours, Mrs Tucker had undergone a leg amputation around four years ago and would have been unable to escape the fire on her own.
One card left at the scene said: "Jude, you were always such a lovely, funny lady. You would help anyone, we are so shocked. You are now with your Dave again."
Another note said: "We didn't know you but God bless you and your family at this sad time. Going to miss you Jude, sorry I couldn't do more."
A framed picture of an angel with a message read: "Jude, rest in peace, love from everyone at Quarry Square."
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze was said to have started accidentally and the full inquest will be held on March 19.
