Finchcocks Musical Museum in Goudhurst is to close at the end of the year.
The museum is owned and run by Richard and Katrina Burnett, who moved into Finchcocks some 45 years ago.
The Georgian mansion holds Mr Burnett’s personal collection of more than 100 historic keyboard instruments, including harpsichords, pianos and organs.
Many of them are in full working order, and visitors have previously been treated to hearing many of them played.
The museum’s cellar restaurant, regular jazz nights, and extensive 13-acres of parkland have also proved popular, with Finchcocks winning the accolade of Best Musical Museum in the country in 2012.
Mr Burnett, himself a classical pianist, was made an MBE in 2008 for his services to music, but is sadly now profoundly deaf.
The museum’s last open day will be December 31.
