Big changes for town

Planners are due to discuss three major developments at a meeting tonight.

Among the plans scheduled to go before Maidstone council’s planning committee is an application for the demolition and redevelopment of the former Army and Navy site in Week Street.

The redevelopment would see the construction of a five storey building containing shops, cafes and flats.

Also on the agenda is Bryant Homes’ application to build 122 homes on land to the rear of Maidstone Fire Station in Loose Road, and plans to demolish old school buildings and build the new academy at New Line Learning, Oldborough School, Boughton Lane, Maidstone.
