Dozens of people have turned out for the funeral of Bill Treeby Snr.

Police closed roads and diverted traffic in the Queen Street area of Paddock Wood to allow the funeral procession to travel to and from nearby St Andrew's Church.

The funeral finished just before 1pm and 46 vehicles, including two flatbed lorries filled with flowers, joined the cortege as it left the church.

The coffin was brought to the service in a white carriage, drawn by white horses. Floral tributes bore the words "Grandad" and "Forever in our hearts".

Bill Treeby, 50, was found dead in Elmley Prison on the Isle of Sheppey two days after he was found guilty of murdering his brother Jack Treeby.

His sons Billy Jnr and George were also convicted and are now serving a minimum of 23 years in jail for the killing.

Bill Snr's wife Charity, 51, was cleared of murder but was found guilty of causing grievious bodily harm to Gary Treeby - another brother of Bill Snr and Jack.
