A body has been found in the search for a missing man.

Police have confirmed that a body was found on farmland in north Tonbridge on last Friday.

It is believed to be that of missing Tonbridge man Stephen Leheup, 50, although it has not yet been formally identified. It had been at the scene for some time.

Mr Leheup, a diabetic, went missing from his home on Sunday, November 20, but did not take his keys or any money with him, leaving only with a mobile phone and charger. His disappearance was said to be out of character.

Officers had conducted several searches of the area with Kent Search & Rescue.

His son, Toby, 20, and wife, Dawn, had appealed for help in tracing him before Christmas.

A post mortem was being carried out today and the coroner has been notified. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
