A man's body has been discovered in a Coxheath park.

Police were called to the playing fields off Stockett Lane at 8.05am yesterday after reports of concern for a man's welfare.

The body of a local man in his 40s was discovered.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious and the man's next of kin has been informed.

Members of the public said police were seen searching the area in the morning and the park was closed to the public.

Mid Kent and Medway coroner's office confirmed someone died in Coxheath at the weekend but could not give any details.
