Embers from a bonfire started a blaze in the roof space of an office in Loose, Maidstone, last night.

The fire started in a property in Salt's Avenue at 4.45pm.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the domestic building was used as an office and storage space.

A spokesman said: "It is believed the fire may have been caused by embers from a nearby bonfire.

"Crews used a short extension ladder to reach the affected area and a hose reel to extinguish the fire."

Firefighters stayed at the scene until just after 5.30pm.
