He may have taught thousands of pupils, but former art teacher Brian Cannell’s days of educating others are far from over.

When he’s not designing Christmas cards for the number 72 Trolleybus, and for All Saints’ Church’s newsletter, he seems to be busy honing his knowledge on the history of Maidstone.

In two hours, he’s able to cover the history of the town – maybe not all of it, but quite a sizeable chunk, and there’s plenty more teaching to come, as Angela Cole discovered when she met him for the Friday Interview in this week's Kent Messenger.
